Abstract
The Silahara Kingdom established on the Konkan coast (tenth to thirteenth centuries) has left behind a number of inscriptions, which, together with other data, enable us to explore its economic base. The article argues that though the coastal strip was subject to much maritime activity, it was the growth of agriculture and coconut production which provided the main sources of revenue for the polity.
