Abstract
Reason, despite its many definitions, has a realm that conflicts with religion or any system of thought based ultimately on faith. Early Buddhist and Jaina thoughts are significant in their rejection of faith-sanctioned belief and assertion of the possibility of multiplicity of truths in an ever-changing universe.
