Abstract

Dear APSNA members, colleagues, and future nurse leaders,
I extend my gratitude to those seeking better outcomes for our diverse population of patients, nursing and healthcare professionals, sharing the passion in caring for pediatric surgical patients, that support the mission of American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association, Inc. [APSNA, Inc., est. 1992].
It is an honor to write our global publisher Sage's first President Message in the Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing [JPSN], to reach our devoted healthcare professionals caring for pediatric surgical patients.
APSNA, Inc. is working together with organizations that share our mutual values. Together, we are strengthening our core in recognizing disparities in healthcare, improving access to care, building pillars together to house our mutually shared education platforms, advancing opportunities for volunteer members in leadership roles, reminding each other of our responsibilities for self-wellness, while supporting our nursing profession in pediatric surgery, to promote the standards of excellent care, to model American Nurses Association's [ANA] philosophy of, “Leading the profession to shape the future of nursing and health care.”
I invite everyone to use your voice, share your experiences, learn from your predecessors, mentor future generations of pediatric surgical professionals, author, listen, and volunteer to carry APSNA's mission forward. In 2024, APSNA, Inc. will build the next Strategic Plan. Despite years of experience in practice, we will continue to evolve together, as we share one mission. We want to hear from you as we build stronger tomorrows, support DEI and advocate for our patients, and healthcare professionals. YOU MATTER, GET INVOLVED. The opportunities for professional growth are right here, in APSNA, Inc. Please consider joining our professional family and bettering our tomorrows for pediatric surgery patients.
Please reach out to info@apsna.org for opportunities to grow.
Respectfully,
