This article was revised and replaced to address multiple revisions that were required to address an error in the original publication, where the odds ratios were displayed as “protective effects” instead of “risk factors.” Dr Mirwais Mehrab explained that the error was introduced during his statistical analysis as a result of his reverse coding factors in association with injury (protective instead of risk).
Applying the correct coding resulted in significantly changing the interpretation of a single risk factor for injury (duration of participation) and therefore the related alinea in the “Discussion” section is adjusted accordingly.
