Abstract
The study examines the impact of a hospitable service mindset (HSM) on aspiring hospitality entrepreneurs, focusing on its role in enhancing self-efficacy (SE) and internship satisfaction. The research investigates the relationship between this mindset, SE and internship satisfaction through a quantitative approach involving 378 respondents from a tourism polytechnic in Indonesia. Results indicate that a HSM positively influences internship satisfaction across various dimensions and that SE mediates this relationship. This suggests that individuals with a strong, HSM exhibit higher confidence levels, leading to increased satisfaction with their internships. The study makes a significant contribution to the literature by clearly linking these factors and emphasizing the urgent need for educational institutions to integrate the development of a HSM into their curricula. Additionally, it highlights the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders and educational institutions to design effective internship programmes, ensuring that aspiring hospitality entrepreneurs are well-prepared for successful careers in the sector.
