Abstract

MARCH 29–APRIL 1, 1998, TOSA ROYAL HOTEL GEISEI-MURA, AKI-GUN, KOCHI 781–57 JAPAN
Following exponential interest in clinical laboratory automation over the last 6 years, since the premier world conference, the symposium will be offered for the first time in Kochi, Japan. This unique event provides a forum where scientists, diagnostic manufacturers, consultants and clinical systems integrators can meet to exchange ideas which promote the use of automation in today's laboratories. Many diverse automation disciplines will be represented including robotics, artificial intelligence, machine vision, and process control. After the symposium registrants will have an opportunity to tour operating automated laboratories in Kobe, Osaka, and Tokyo.
In the scientific program, an international group of experts will be featured to present a wide variety of subjects related to clinical laboratory automation, including:
Cost justification of automation
Providing faster through-put and higher quality through-put automation
Automation technologies likely to shape the next century of clinical laboratories
A commercial exhibition will be open each day of the conference featuring hardware and software produced by international companies. Customers will have the opportunity to discuss their specific needs with sales persons who specialize in laboratory automation. The registrants may also present their latest work in this field at the poster session. Posters are an ideal forum to share challenges and success with other scientists interested in laboratory automation.
