Lipidure-Coat Low-Adhesion Plates and Dishes
For 3D spheroid cell culture, these plates and dishes are available in a 384-well format optimized for drug screening or other high-throughput applications. Lipidure-Coat surfaces use MPC (2-ethacryloyloxtethyl phosphorylcholine), a biocompatible synthetic polymer with the same structure as the phosphorylcholine polar bases that form cell membranes. As a consequence of the high biocompatibility of this coating, cells will not adhere to the surface of Lipidure-Coat plates or dishes. Different well shapes available for 96-well plates (U, V, and flat-bottom) can be used to control size, position, and density of spheroids.
According to AMSBIO, Lipidure-Coat promotes the formation of a single spheroid in each well of U-bottom multiwell plates, while other brands of plate lead to formation of satellite spheroids, indicating a higher degree of cell adhesion is taking place. Formation of spheroids, tumorspheres, embryonic bodies, and neurospheres using LIPIDURE plates has been demonstrated for cell types, including embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells (human and mouse), NIH3T3, preadipocytes, HepG2, and other cancer cell lines, as well as primary neuronal cells. For larger scale assays as well as in applications such as Western blotting or gene expression microarrays, Lipidure-COAT dishes have produced highly reproducible, quality results.

ThinCert Cell Culture Inserts
With porous PET membranes, these inserts provide a growth substrate for generating cell-based models to investigate tumor cell invasion, transephithelial transport, and paracrine cell-to-cell interactions. They are now available coated with native collagen type I. This additional coating enables numerous growth and differentiation processes to be accelerated. A common example of this would be the culture of organotypical tissue models and tissue reconstruction. Epithelial cells, on precoated ThinCert Cell Culture Inserts, demonstrate a differentiation state at 2 weeks that is usually seen after 3. The manufacturing process ensures consistently high coating quality with minimal variation between batches. The inserts coated with native collagen type I can be ordered in 6-well and 24-well formats.

CELLview Slide
The CELLview Slide has the dimensions of a standard microscope slide, is manufactured from transparent plastic resin, but has a 145-µm-thick borosilicate glass bottom embedded within it. It also has a detachable black polystyrene housing on top of the slide. This housing divides the slide into 10 round compartments, each of which is the size of a well of a standard 96-well microplate. The round cross section of the well helps to reduce the unwanted meniscus effect commonly found with straight-sided wells. Thanks to the detachable housing, the slide can be used for further processing such as histochemical staining. Removing the housing also makes the slide compact for storage. The autofluorescence-free glass bottom of CELLview products reduces the depolarization of light and maximizes spectral transmission. This is why CELLview products are considered ideal for fluorescence microscopy and other applications such as live-cell imaging, phase contrast microscopy, confocal microscopy (confocal laser scanning microscopy/laser scanning confocal microscopy), high-resolution microscopy, and fluorescent in situ hybridization. Thanks to the embedded glass bottom, it is also possible to work on a constant focal plane, and as a result, high-speed microscopy can be performed.

Sapphire Pipette Tips
Made of high-quality polypropylene, Sapphire Pipette Tips have thin-walled pipette shafts and fit perfectly onto standard laboratory pipettors. The tips are transparent and graduated to ensure accurate pipetting. To identify which size of pipette tips a particular box holds, all boxes are now transparent and with colored inserts. The color of each insert is based on the volume of the relevant pipette tips. They are transparent for 10-µL and 20-µL tips, yellow for the 100-µL and 200-µL sizes, green for the 300-µL model, and blue for the 1250-µL version.
