It is with great enthusiasm that we present the first AO Spine Asia Pacific Regional Conference. This is a vital platform for members to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging trends and foster regional collaborations. With the assistance of the Global Spine Journal, we dedicate this special issue to showcasing the ten most impactful papers submitted to the AO Spine Asia Pacific Regional Conference. Each paper has been chosen based on its scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and potential to influence future practice. This edition highlights the innovative research and clinical advancements that are shaping the future of spinal care across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. We extend our gratitude to the authors, reviewers, and organizers who contributed to this successful event and publication.

The Spine Surgeon community from the Asia Pacific region has been widely regarded as amongst the most technically, skilled and academically inclined groups with possibly the widest variation of spinal pathology and commensurate surgical techniques on offer.
The dense population base with an extreme variations in pathology, time of presentation and economic background makes a heady mix for the treating Spine Surgeon in the region.
A large sample of this community came together for the first ever ‘Regional conference of the AO Spine Asia Pacific’ in September 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
We present abstracts of the 10 best free paper submissions at this meeting, show casing, what is on the forefront of research, that is making waves in the AP region.
