Abstract

We appreciate Tumialán LT and Theodore N, the authors of “Letter to Editor”. As they mentioned, similar findings from a biomechanical analysis had been reported in the previously published article. The sentence “This is the first study to biomechanically evaluate TLIF using double banana shaped cages.” may not have been appropriate expression. However, our experimental approaches were quite different from the previous one. Therefore, we believe that our article is still meaningful and valuable. We conducted a clinical study to compare outcomes among patients who underwent surgery using different types or numbers of cages. Secondly, we performed a finite element model (FEM) analysis to determine the biomechanical stress of the vertebral endplate. Additionally, we agree that those previously published resources should be included in references in our future publications.
