Abstract
In this study, we examine the relationship between worldviews associated with the environment, materialism and voluntary simplicity. A total of 316 participants completed a questionnaire measuring the Dominant Social Paradigm, the New Ecological Paradigm, desire for money and voluntary simplicity. The results reveal a negative impact of the Dominant Social Paradigm on voluntary simplicity, mediated by the desire for money. In contrast, there is a positive relationship between the New Ecological Paradigm and voluntary simplicity. These findings are discussed in terms of their theoretical implications.
