Below is the corrected Table 7 for the article, “Understanding and Preventing Osteoporosis” by Joy Renfro, MA, RRA, CMA, and Julie Brown, MSN, RNC, CMA, which appeared in the April issue, page 190. There was an error in the second questionnaire criteria as printed.
Score Questionnaire A score is derived by adding the variables for any female. A 50 year old white female who has never taken estrogen weighs 120 lb. Her mother suffers from severe osteoporosis. She has no other significant risk factors for osteoporosis. Apdated from Moussa (1997).

5. Add 1 point if not taking and never have taken estrogen (including estrogen contraception)
20 + 1 = 21
6. Deduct the first 2 numbers of the subject's weight expressed in pounds
21 − 12 = 9
