Abstract
These remarks were delivered by General of the Armies, Douglas MacArthur, at West Point on May 12. General MacArthur had come to the Military Academy to accept the Sylvanus Thayer Award for service to his nation. Though it is not concerned with nursing, it is felt that this message by a distinguished American is meaningful to every citizen.
