Abstract

Workplace Health & Safety is pleased to announce the all-new Round Table Series, a feature that uses a conversational round table format to address select issues important to the occupational health professional. The Series will present opinions and ideas of leading experts in their fields, timely and practical resources, and specific strategies to solve these issues. The goal of this series is to present topical information in a highly animated and interaction manner.
The first Round Table is included in this issue and titled, “Bariatric Space, Design and Technology: A Round Table.” Experts in the areas of occupational health, patient safety, bariatrics, patient handling, ergonomics, and economics were asked to contribute their opinions and views regarding the challenges of space, design, and technology in caring for the individual who is obese. This occupational challenge is applicable to any setting where health care is delivered.
