Abstract
This is the final article in the 2025 special issue for the inaugural PSC Emerging Scholars cohort; here we unpack an action research study in which we examined 3 years’ worth of data, to understand the processes and outcomes of this one-of-a-kind research mentoring program that centers (a) emerging scholars, (b) those who have been practicing school counselors, and (c) those who identify as being from a historically marginalized group. Results included a prioritization of research, community, and shifting from navigating to dismantling and reimagining academia. Aligned with an action research lens, the article concludes with recommendations for the second cohort, which is in development.
