Abstract
This exploratory study examined the effectiveness of online training about homelessness and education designed for school counseling students. Before and after completing the online modules, participants completed pre- and post-test surveys and answered open-ended questions concerning their knowledge and preparation related to working with students experiencing homelessness. Results indicated that participating in the training was significantly associated with higher levels of knowledge and stronger perceptions of knowledge and preparation about homelessness. The participants described the training as informative and valuable. The results of this study suggest that online training on homelessness is a valuable assignment for preservice school counselors that can enhance their knowledge and preparation.
