College Annual Members’ meeting

Hosted by the College’s President, Chief Executive and Chair of Trustees, our third Annual Members’ meeting will set out our progress to date in realising the vision for the College, and our plans for the future, and will offer members the opportunity to ask questions. British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show (BDCDS)

The UK’s largest dental event brings together the whole dental team, with 9,000 dental professionals gathering under one roof. Free for all registered dental professionals, expect 200+ world-class speakers and 150+ hours of CPD across 11 theatres, and with suppliers and exhibitors also on site. As the headline education partner of the Enhanced CPD Theatre, the College will be hosting a stand where staff and senior members will be available to answer any queries you may have about the College and membership, or just to say hello.

George is Deputy Dental Director of Dental Protection and Chief Examiner at the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians.

Managing medical emergencies in the dental practice

This free lecture, delivered by Dr Sukhvinder Singh Atthi FCGDent, offers delegates the latest expertise to sustain life when a medical emergency occurs in general dental practice. Dr Atthi discusses the early recognition and management of deterioration in a patient that may become medically compromised during their dental treatment, and explores how to use mandatory drugs in medical emergencies.

The networking and award event will include welcome addresses by the President and Chair of the College, the admission of new Fellows, and the presentation of President’s Commendations, Honorary Fellowships, and the College Medal. Open to all Fellows, Associate Fellows and those enrolled in Certified Membership, with priority given to new Fellows. Pre-register for early notification of the opening of bookings (pre-registration does not reserve a ticket).

Syncope
What should you do when a patient passes out in your practice? Syncope is a transient loss of consciousness due to cerebral ischaemia caused by a reduction in blood supply to the brain. This webinar, from ProDental CPD, raises awareness of the signs and symptoms of a faint to enable early intervention, describes the management of a faint, and discusses alternative reasons for loss of consciousness. £20 for non-members.
