Abstract

Okeahialam BN (2021) Serine protease inhibitors could be of benefit in the treatment of COVID-19 disease. Therapeutic Advances in Infectious Disease. 2021; 8. doi:10.1177/20499361211032048
This article has the following correction on p. 2 in Column 1, line 46:
The correct statement should read: “PAI-1 is a serine protease inhibitor and serine protease inhibitors cannot hold promise for cure at the stage of cytokine storm. Rather it is fibrinolytic serine proteases that can deactivate it and permit lysis of fibrin and thrombi to fibrin degradation products; resulting in recovery.”
