Post-operative intracranial aneurysm rests are encountered in 4 to 10% of patients undergoing postoperative angiography.
Reoperation of postoperative aneurysm rests can be difficult and lead to significant morbidity and mortality. Endovascular treatment, using controlled detachable coils, was performed in 3 patients with such rests and proved successful as an alternative treatment of post-operative aneurysm rests.
