Abstract

Left internal carotid angiography in a 35-year-old woman, with hemiplegia and aphasia due to an earlier putaminal hemorrhage, showed an unusual basket of large vessels at the base of the brain, mimicking an AVM.

The evidence of extensive transdural and leptomeningeal collaterals on external carotid and vertebral angiograms, allowed the definitive diagnosis of moyamoya disease.
