Viene descritto un caso di ascesso epidurale dorsale alto, a rapida evoluzione, sottostante un tatuaggio cutaneo, accorso in un giovane tossicodipendente e trattato con evacuazione chirurgica. Dopo una breve revisione della letteratura vengono discussi i vecchi protocolli diagnostici e, infine, viene sottolineato il ruolo della RM svolto nella diagnosi precoce e nel bilancio prognostico di tale affezione.
