Abstract
We describe two patients with dural fistulae treated by venous embolization with coils. We combined a direct neurosurgical approach to the venous segment with endovascular occlusion.
This technique offers the pathophysiologically most appropriate treatment (venous approach) which is relatively simply and safe for the patient. The combined approach avoids the technical complexity of traditional neurosurgery and the not always straightforward and long catheterization via the retrograde transfemoral venous route of the traditional endovascular procedure.
