Abstract
While access to freshwater has not traditionally been a source of conflict between nations, present trends indicate that it could become a serious bone of contention in the near future. Implementing new methods for measuring water need and use can reduce competition, avoid waste, and help guarantee equitable distribution of this vital resource to businesses, communities, and nations—especially those close to major lakes and rivers.
