Abstract
With this issue, the AARC introduces CRCE through the Journal- a way for members to gain continuing education credit (CRCE) by careful reading, thoughtful study, and test completion. Refer to the May issue (Continuing Education Credit: CRCE through the Journal. Respir Care 1989;34:337-338) for a more complete discussion.
The 50-item test that follows is based on papers published in RESPIRATORY CARE from July 1988 through June 1989. The issue and page numbers of the paper on which a question is based follow the question.
You are free to consult the cited paper as you complete the answer sheet; however, best retention of information will probably occur if you read the paper in its entirety and then answer the questions. Remember CRCE through the Journal is an honor system-and the benefit you gain will be in direct proportion to the effort you invest.
