A 27-year-old woman experienced episodes of hemoptysis coinciding with her menses, for 5 months. A clinical diagnosis of pulmonary endometriosis was made, based on the temporal relationship of the hemoptysis to the menstrual cycle, although histological confirmation was not obtained. The patient refused the indicated therapy, hormonal suppression of the menses.
