A pediatric tracheostomy swivel system that has substantial advantages over previous systems has been developed. The Custom Pediatric Tracheostomy Swivel (CPTS) when glued into an Aberdeen-type tracheostomy tube offers the advantage of being a secure system with a low probability for disconnection. Other advantages of the CPTS are that its low profile allows a normal range of motion for the infant's head, prevents the development of chin erosions, and allows increased mobility and activity in the prone position.
