This article is about oxygen use in Australia, with special reference to the state of New South Wales (NSW). Living in the southern hemisphere may give us a somewhat different perspective of the world and of the use of long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT). I obtained the data presented here from physicians in Sydney and from the company that supplies oxygen in NSW—Commonwealth Industrial Gases (CIG), a subsidiary of British Oxygen. The numbers presented are approximate only.
