Announcing the AMSSM-ACSM Breaking Barriers Research Grant Award ($20,000)

The AMSSM Foundation and the ACSM Research Committee welcome research grant proposals that investigate topics within the discipline of sports medicine that focus on the health and wellbeing of traditionally underrepresented communities in sports medicine. The purpose of this grant mechanism is to foster research that can “break barriers” and grow the evidence base supporting historically underserved communities within sports medicine.
The purpose of the Breaking Barriers award, which has a maximum project budget of US $20,000, is to address the health and wellbeing of traditionally underrepresented communities in sports medicine.

NATA Offers New Microcredential
NATA and the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer have partnered on a new microcredential: the Secondary School Mental Health Preparedness microcredential. This is a self-paced program that equips athletic trainers in the secondary school setting with essential knowledge and practical strategies to recognize, respond to, and plan for mental health challenges among student athletes. The microcredential will be available in December. Preregister through November 30 for the best price. The cost for NATA members is US $120 through November 30, and US $175 starting December 1.
