Abstract

American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM)
ECG Interpretation in Athletes Initiative
In late February, the 2nd ECG Interpretation in Athletes Summit took place in Seattle, Washington. The Summit brought together top US and international sports cardiologists and primary care sports medicine leaders to update the criteria for the free online learning modules to help physicians better interpret ECG (electrocardiogram) screening results and help reduce the rate of sudden cardiac death in athletes. To date, 7300 modules have been completed by physicians from 93 countries. The modules were produced by AMSSM, supported by FIFA, and hosted by BMJ Learning’s site. To view the modules, visit http://learning.bmj.com.
Collaborative Solutions for Safety in Sport National Meeting
Cosponsored by the NATA and AMSSM, the goal of this meeting is to bring together state high school athletic association and sports medicine leaders to discuss and promote implementation of current health and safety best practices.
