Abstract
Sociological careers vary widely within and outside of the academy. The decision to pursue a sociological career and the path the career takes are influenced by extraneous variables. This address is a retrospective look at the 2011 Association of Applied and Clinical Sociology (AACS) president’s sociological career from the rise of the actable idea to his speech at the 2011 AACS conference.
