Abstract
Late Professor Hideaki Matsuda
It is my privilege and pleasure to announce a special collection of Natural Product Communications in honor of the late Professor Hideaki Matsuda, who passed away in April 2017. He held various academic positions for about 25 years at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kindai University, Higashiosaka, Japan.
All of us are aware of his outstanding contributions to phytopharmaceuticals and raw materials for functional foods. Therefore, we have planned a special collection on “Functional materials from natural resources - for better quality of life.”
He authored/co-authored 30 books and over 200 publications, including more than 10 publications in Natural Product Communications.
My sincere thanks go to Prof Kazuya Murata, Faculty of Pharmacy, Kindai University, 3-4-1 Kowakae, Higashiosaka, Japan for his idea of having this themed collection, as well as for his enormous inputs. We are grateful to the authors and reviewers who have made this special collection of Natural Product Communications possible and to our production department for their efforts.
