The essential oil from the leaves of Carramboa pittieri (Cuatrec.) Cuatrec. was isolated by hydrodistillation, yielding 0.1%. The chemical composition was determined by GC-FID and GC-MS. Forty-one components were identified by comparison of their mass spectra with Wiley and NIST Library data. The major constituents of the oil were germacrene-D (28.9%), ent-kaur-16-en-19-al (15.1%), β-selinene (8.2%), β-caryophyllene (6.1%) and α-copaene (5.1%).
