Abstract
No individual health profession can compete for size with the medical or nursing professions but, as a group, the other health professions can have a strong voice. While the Australian Council of Allied Health Professions (ACAHP) has represented those professions, it became apparent over recent years that such a peak body needed more resources to tackle the larger issues. This report gives some background on ACAHP and summarises the changes currently being discussed.
