Abstract
FAR FROM BEING isolationist, and possibly in an attempt to conquer the shrinking tyranny of distance, many Australians set out to experience different cultures and places. Some might suggest this is a feature of the Australian character — a certain inquisitiveness and need to see it and do it for themselves.
HIMs are no exception to seeing and doing it for themselves. In response to the Journal's call for submissions some months ago, this feature of current and past overseas work experience by HIMs is testimony to Australian HIMs and their personal and professional adaptability.
