Abstract
The above seminar was organised by IIR Conferences and presented by C Peter Waegemann, Executive Director of the Medical Records Institute (a Boston-based organisation involved in applied research in medical informatics) and was well attended by HIMs from various states and territories. The program for the two-day seminar covered a variety of issues, including the concept of electronic patient record systems, the costs and benefits of those systems, the current technologies and their status in terms of development and utilisation and the legal implications.
