Abstract

Welcome all readers, authors, reviewers, editorial board members and other stake holders to this first open access version of International Journal of Ocean and Climate Systems (OCS). We are entering into the seventh year of our publication. At this juncture, we are happy to announce that now onwards the Journal would be published by SAGE Publishing House, which is the world’s fifth largest journals publisher having a portfolio of more than 900 journals belonging to diverse areas of science and technology as well as humanities and social sciences.
The Editorial Board takes this opportunity to thank the outgoing publisher, Multi-Science, UK, for their excellent support to the Journal over a period of last 6 years.
We wish to inform all prospective authors that now onwards all issues of this Journal will be of open access type, freely available to everyone. Consistent with the general open access norm, authors will be required to pay an article processing charge upon acceptance of their manuscripts. The manuscript submission, review and editing process will be managed through our online portal. We hope all authors would take a note of these changes related to publication, and cooperate.
We are also happy to inform that all back issues of OCS have been made freely available through our web portal.
For the benefit of prospective authors, the specialties of OCS are mentioned below.
The OCS is a peer-reviewed Journal, whose aim is to provide visibility to research in ocean science and technology with focus on systems approach in general. Works involving the use of system techniques to understand ocean processes, to develop ocean resources and facilities and to describe changes in ocean climate and their impact on human activities are particularly welcome.
Analytical, empirical, numerical and data-driven methods which are employed to understand ocean processes, develop ocean facilities and solve problems of technological nature related to oceans are welcome.
The manuscripts may report advancement of theoretical knowledge, computational methods, experimental findings or field studies. Cross-disciplinary works bridging the gap between ocean science and technology will be appreciated.
The contributions could be mainly in the form of original research papers (including case studies), but may also include review articles, short technical notes, discussions on current and future scientific and technological problems, reports on professional activities and book reviews.
