A new technique has been introduced by Mr. Nabil Fahmy from Stockport, to relieve pain and disability caused by osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb. The technique consists of trapeziectomy followed by distraction, achieved by application of the Stockport Serpentine Spring System, the “S” Quattro, which is basically a mini flexible external fixator.
