There is a plethora of literature about Dupuytren's contracture covering a range of subjects from tissue studies and predisposing factors through to the range of surgical techniques for its management. The scope of this paper will be limited to the condition and disease progression pre-operatively and how this affects the individual, with discussion of surgical management of the condition focusing on partial fasciectomy and the ‘open palm’ technique.
