Abstract
Practitioner-led hand clinics have been developed at Withington Hospital in response to a growing number of patients referred with hand trauma. A specialist physiotherapist, occupational therapist and nurse review patients who are referred according to protocols, developed with the approval of the consultant staff. These clinics were audited over a three-month period and have been permanently funded as a result of improvements in waiting times and standards of care.
