Abstract

At the request of Sage Publishing and the Editor, the following article has been retracted:
Feng W, Dean DC, Hornicek FJ, et al. ATR and p-ATR are emerging prognostic biomarkers and DNA damage response targets in ovarian cancer. Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology. 2020;12. doi:10.1177/1758835920982853
Sage Publishing was made aware of a PubPeer post which discusses concerns regarding Figure 2 and Figure 5 of this article. The concerns raised are:
In Figure 2, the p-ATR panels 1+ and 3+ appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 2, the HE panels 1+ and 3+ appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5a, the ATR panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5a the DAPI panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part I, the β-actin panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part I, the DAPI+ATR panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part I, the All merge panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A’s Part II, the p-ATR panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part II, the DAPI panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part II, the β-actin panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part II, the DAPI+ATR panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
In Figure 5A Part II, the All merge panels showing the Untreated Control and Non-specific siRNA 80nm appear to have overlapping sections
The authors were not able to provide an explanation for the concerns and were not able to provide the images underlying the published figures.
Due to concerns about the integrity of these figures that call into question the validity of the findings, this article has been retracted.
W.F. responded disagreeing with the retraction decision. All other authors did not respond when notified of this decision.
