Over the past decade, Vietnam has witnessed a dramatic rise in overweight and obesity prevalence among school-aged children, particularly in urban areas and among boys. This Current Topics & Opinions article synthesises relevant findings from national and international literature to identify the problem, associated factors, and potential consequences. It also underscores the urgent need for culturally tailored, evidence-based strategies that address diet, physical activity, and educational interventions.
