Strengthening infection control in developing countries: introducing a formal structure

Abstract

This article describes the first stage introduction of an infection control framework in the Aga Khan Health Service Organisations in two countries, north Pakistan and Kenya. Also considered are some of the factors that influence the healthcare delivery systems in developing countries, as seen by the author, and how colleagues in these areas may be helped.
