Abstract
This is a report of a meeting about skin piercing and tattooing, which was held at the Friends Meeting House, London on 22 March 2001.
Regulation, audited hygiene training and licensing are urgently needed to support the truly professional practitioners of tattooing and skin piercing. Whatever one's personal view of these processes, the demand for them is abundant — and the health of practitioners and customers alike must be safeguarded.
