Abstract
GPs are often the first point of contact for patients seeking help and advice. We may be familiar with the need to flit between the varied roles arising from the variety of different problems, but we should not do anything beyond our professional role. Do we simply state that it is beyond our remit? Should we refuse to see them? Is prescribing antibiotics the answer?
