Abstract
Travel and exploration are fundamental aspects of human nature, driven by an innate desire to discover new places and engage with diverse cultures. Travel encompasses not only the act of moving from one country to another, but also the experience of immersing oneself in the unique scents, flavours, and colours of different environments. However, for individuals with food allergies, the prospect of travel can be fraught with challenges. Recent studies have indicated that families affected by food allergies often prefer to remain close to home or choose destinations that closely resemble their own cultural contexts. This preference is primarily motivated by the desire to mitigate potential difficulties related to food safety and language/cultural barriers during their travels. It is regrettable that such constraints limit the travel opportunities available to these families. The medical community can play a role in addressing this issue providing accurate information and valuable guidance to assist families in preparing for their journeys, thus aiming to create a safe and enjoyable travel experience. In response to these challenges, we have developed a comprehensive guide aimed at managing food allergies while travelling.
