Abstract
Genital warts are highly prevalent within the population, and many patients present first to primary care. This article will provide an overview of presentation, differential diagnoses, investigation, and management of genital warts. It will also have a section on the initial and ongoing psychological impact on the patient from a diagnosis of genital warts, an often over-looked aspect of holistic care. The article aims to provide guidance on assessment and management of genital warts and to increase awareness of the mental health impacts that may be associated with the diagnosis.
