Abstract
Nail disorders constitute a significant number of skin-related GP consultations. They are a recognised cause of absenteeism from work and psychological distress caused by disfigurement. This article focuses on the recognition and management of common nail disorders and red-flag conditions. Nail disorders are also frequently seen as part of systemic diseases. These underlying conditions will be discussed when relevant but the focus will be on the management of the associated nail disorder.
