Abstract
The following article has been retracted at the request of the Journal Editor and Publisher:
Zhu Z, Xueying L, Chunlin L, et al. Effect of berberine on LPS-induced expression of NF-κB/MAPK signalling pathway and related inflammatory cytokines in porcine intestinal epithelial cells.
The Journal Editor and Sage were contacted by a reader with concerns about errors in the data reported in the article:
In Fig. 3 the p65 protein band appears different from the reported results in an earlier unpublished thesis version of article. In Fig. 4 ERK1/2 protein band appears different from the reported results in an earlier unpublished thesis version of the article.
The author shared the raw images and requested the replacement of the two images (Fig. 3 p65 and Fig. 4 ERK1/2 protein band).
The Journal Editor evaluated the response and deemed that there were inconsistencies between the raw images provided and the images in the published article.
Due to the unresolved concerns about image integrity, that call into question the validity of the findings, the Journal Editor and Sage retract the article.
Author Wang Zili did not agree with the retraction. Authors Zhu Zhang, JingHuang, Meilan Jin, Yuwei Xu and Rongrong Zeng could not be reached. Other authors did not comment.
