A 61-year-old man took an amisulpride overdose of 32g. He developed severe cardiovascular instability with multiple episodes of torsades de pointes. Management was guided by current TOXBASE guidelines and the patient made a complete recovery. However, this case revealed certain questions surrounding the benefits, and associated risks, of recommended management.
