Nebulised Heparin is Associated with Fewer Days of Mechanical Ventilation in Critically Ill Patients

Abstract

This small randomised controlled trial (RCT) of ventilated patients failed to demonstrate an improvement in PaO₂/FiO₂ with the use of regular nebulised heparin. However, nebulised heparin was associated with an increase in ventilator-free days.
