Abstract
we live in a litigious society. Patients are now very willing to sue when procedures in hospital go wrong. The lawyers who conduct the cases often need experienced nurses to act as expert witnesses to look at the facts of each case to advice on how things should have been done. Many such nurse experts earn a considerable secondary source of income by doing such work.
